CLIMB students do both modelling and bench or field research.

We seek motivated students from the biological or mathematical sciences who wish to use mathematics and computation to answer questions in biology.

The application process includes a preliminary paper screening and group interviews of finalists.

Applications are open to sophomores, juniors, and incoming transfer students. We regret that international students and students with engineering majors are not eligible for CLIMB funding; however, we welcome them as associates.

To be eligible, applicants must...

  • have at least a 3.0 grade point average
  • major in the biological or mathematical sciences
  • have completed one year of calculus
  • agree to complete a biological modeling course by the end of the program year
  • life sciences majors must have completed at least two courses in biology
  • mathematical sciences majors must have completed at least two mathematics courses beyond calculus, and one course in biology
